The big question that seems to have been asked very frequently these past couple of years is if the radiation in cell phones, known as radio frequency (RF), are the cause of health problems. Cordless home phones, radios, televisions, and laptops also produce the same radiation as cell phones. Studies show that cell phone radiation does not cause cancer; according to some studies, cell phone radiation can actually decrease the risk of developing brain tumors. Cell phones actually increase personal safety by providing easy ways to get in contact in an emergency.
The first cell phone was introduced to the US in 1973; since then the production and complexity has greatly increased over the years. In 1993, concerns over links between cells phones and brain tumors became a major issue. The concerns over cell phone radiation continued over the years until the final GAO report issued concluded this theory.
